Mike Fisher was born into a Christian family on January 5, 1980. As Mike grew up he became obsessed with playing hockey. He played with his older brother Rob and younger brother Bud who he cared for dearly. They played ice hockey, floor hockey, mini sticks you name it.When Mike was seven he started minor hockey and practised hard. as he got older he kept getting better and better. When Mike was seventeen he was the second person to get picked for the 1997 Priority Selection for the  Sudbury Wolves. During his two years with the Wolves he was entered into the 1998 NHL draft.

In 1999 Mike played his first year with Ottawa Senators. Almost every game Mike would get a goal. He played hard and knew how to give a good body check during a game. That didn't stop him from getting into a fist fight from time to time. During a game against the Leafs he got hit on the inside of his knee and tore his anterior cruciate ligament. A season ending injury and a trip to the hospital.

During the year of 2002 Mike and his team were playing against the New Jersey Devils. New Jersey was in the lead 2-1. Until the Senators tied it up with an amazing goal. Then the Devils took the lead again, but only for a few minutes until Ottawa scored again to tie the game. With only two minute left in overtime the Devils won the game. The Senators went home disappointed that they couldn't go to the final game and win the Stanley Cup for their assistant coach Roger Neilson who had cancer. only a month later Mr. Roger died.

On the year 2007 during a hockey practice at the Scotia bank place in Ottawa. A little three year old who's name was Elgin Fraser had been scheduled by the Children's Wish Foundation to lace his skates and come out on the ice with the Senators. Elgin had terminal cancer and was a big fan of the Senators and his dream was to skate with the. Elgin skated around in Mike's arms for the day. Sadly months later Elgin's cancer had become to much for him so he died.

On Thursday 10, 2011 Mike was traded to the Nashville  Predators. Mike was very disappointed that he'd be leaving Ottawa. He had eleven years as Senator. But God was leading him were he needed to go. Mike today is now one of the Nashville Predators and happy to be one to.

Their is nothing wrong with this book and I recommend it to all ages. I think every person of every age will love this book and learn about Mike fisher and about his faith.

Jane Goodall
By Roberta Edwards
Jubilee
106 Pages
Jane Goodall was born on April 3, of 1934, in London England to Mortimer Herbert Goodall who was an engineer, and to Margaret Joseph Goodall  who was an author. Jane is still living and is 80 years old. Jane grew up with her sister Judy.

On Jane's 1st birthday she was given a stuffed chimp named Jubilee.  Ever since she got Jubilee Jane's favourite animal was a chimp.

When Jane was a little girl she was fascinated with animals and loved learning facts about them. Living in the country, Jane studied the animals on their acreage. Jane was a very smart girl and by the age of ten she decided what she wanted to do in her life. Jane wanted to be a scientist studying chimps!

When Jane was a young women she graduated from high school. Africa has tons of chimps so Jane took a job as a waitress to save enough money to go to Africa for a month. while she was in Africa an Archaeologist named Louis Leakey hired her as a fossil digger. Louis Leakey saw that she was a hard worker and gave her a different job which was studying chimps.

Jane lived in a forest called Tanganyika. Jane was the first person to discover that chimps made tools to catch their food which was amazing because they are the only animals known to make tools.   Jane also discovered that chimp seat meat. One day Jane was out studying the chimps and one chimp reached out and held her hand. This was an amazing moment! Jane became known by National geographic magazines and soon was on TV

Jane got married to Hugo Van Lawick, who was a photographer, on March 28, 1964, in London. They worked together studying and taking pictures of chimps. On 1967 they had a son named Grub.

This book was very interesting and told every fact about Jane Goodall's life. I would recommend it to children who are  inspired by studying animals and want to be involved with them when they grow up.

You should read the book because it is filled
with adventure and mystery.

“Thanksgiving is inseparable from true prayer; it is almost essentially connected with it. One who always prays is ever giving praise, whether in ease or pain, both for prosperity and for the greatest adversity. He blesses God for all things, looks on them as coming from Him, and receives them for His sake- not choosing nor refusing, liking or disliking, anything, but only as it is agreeable or disagreeable to His perfect will.”                                                                                                                Samuel Wesley

Heaven is for Real

Heaven is for Real

Author: Todd Burpo

 Report by Samantha Shortt

Pages:154

   Born May 19, 1999 - still living

When Colton was almost four he was taken to the hospital because he had a ruptured appendicitis. His dad Todd, a pastor of Crossroads Wesleyan Church in Imperial has wrote a book that states that Colton saw heaven, he saw things no four year old could just make up. Colton has a sister Cassie ,"other sister" in heaven , his mothers name is Sonja and he has a little brother Colby

Things that Colton has accomplished is thet love of our Heavenly Father,  not many three going on four years old get to experience.

God loves his children as Colton has expressed. I really enjoy this book because it encourages Christians and gets non-Christians thinking. So I think  it is a great book, the only thing I think and others would probably agree on is that the book does not stress on how you have a choice. It is not that when you die you will appear in heaven, you can chose God or your own way, hell. Which one do you chose?

  Number of Pages 159
                                                                   By Helen Keller

Helen Keller lived from June 27, 1880 to June 1, 1968.
Life was difficult for Helen as she was blind and deaf
but as she grew older she learned to talk.
Some of Helen's accomplishments were,
 she became a well-known American author ,
She was the first deaf blind person
to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree.
She also won a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Some of the important people in Helens life were, Anne Sullivan,
Helens teacher who taught Helen how to read and write, her mother,
Kate Adams Keller, who help Helen as much as she could, her father, Arthur H. Keller,
who was not a noticed person in this particular book. Her siblings, Mildred Keller,
Phillips Keller, who like her father after were not told about in this book.

Helen' disabilities did not put her down and she kept believing that she could do everything

the way her friend did and she persevered and could do almost everything that her friend did.

I would recommend this book to a girl grades 5-8 because it is a little hard to understand
as she uses some big words.
